Making Your Own Firming Face Mask

The skin-beautifying properties of honey have been known since the time of Cleopatra, who used to bathe in milk and honey. Besides being a natural enemy to infection-causing bacteria, honey also is a humectant--it attracts and retains moisture. When applied to the complexion, it helps skin stay hydrated, a most important aspect of battling sags and wrinkles.

Choose unfiltered, unprocessed honey for your firming facial mask. Most store brands say on the label whether the honey is "raw," which means it hasn't been processed or heated. The darker the color of the honey, the better. However, lighter shades will work, also. Darker colored honey contains more nutrient concentrations.

Instructions

    • 1
Crack a large organic egg and carefully separate the white from the yolk. Discard the yolk and place the egg white into a small mixing bowl.
    • 2
Add 1 tbsp. of raw honey and 1 tsp. of extra virgin olive oil to the egg whites and mix with a fork until thoroughly blended. Finally, slowly add 1 tsp. at a time of powdered milk to the mixture and stir with the fork until it creates an even paste.
    • 3
Wash your face with warm water and a mild facial soap before you apply your firming facial mask. For best results, steam your face after cleansing and before applying the facial. Simply cover your head with a large towel and drape yourself over a pot of steaming water for about 5 minutes.
    • 4
Apply the mask evenly to your face and neck and then leave until the firming facial mask is completely dry. Rinse with warm water and pat your skin dry.
I am a lil' bit of crazy; no problem without the eggs and can forget about it, use honey & flour or just use flour mixed it with a lil bit of water. I would leave it on my face maybe 30minutes or more, feel the effect of it when the flour dries up.
For me, the flour or egg white are for firming purposes while the honey is for more supple skin and add in some lemon juice if you want some whitening effect.
Doing a firming face mask or whichever face mask, remember to take note of the stroke of applying the mask on your face. Lift upwards instead of downwards. Don't ever get this step wrong.
