Journey Of Inspiration 10th Anniversary Concert

Choral music lovers unite! In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the Dithyrambic Singers will be holding a concert entitled “A Decade of Excellence” opened to all members of the public looking to indulge themselves in a musical treat. The performance will be held at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall on October 9th, and at the Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC) on October 17th (8 pm) and 18th (3pm & 8pm)

For those in the relish for good music, the upcoming concert promises to fulfill cravings with an assortment of pieces that will satiate listeners with musical delight. No strangers to artistic excellence, the Dithyrambic Singers are known for their wide, versatile display of repertoire, both classical and contemporary, producing performances of great fervor that will be sure to incite excitement in their audiences. In this anniversary concert where the Dithyrambic Singers relive their journey of choral exploration, the choir invites you to join in and celebrate the magical experience.

The Dithyrambic Singers, comprised of youths with a passion for choral music, was founded in 2005 in Kuala Lumpur. Under the direction of Ian Lim Kean Seng, the choir has grown to become one of the leading choral ensembles in Malaysia. The choir has also gained international recognition; claiming several accolades in various choir competitions and has been invited to perform in South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, China and Brunei. In 2010, the Dithyrambic Singers was invited to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall Distinguished Concerts International in New York (DCINY) to participate in the New York Premiere of the Concert Version of Eric Whitacre’s The City and the Sea. The Dithyrambic Singers has performed with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in several concerts since 2012, including “Andrea Bocelli’s Asia World Tour, “Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy”, “Bizet’s Carmen” and “Mahler’s Symphony No.2”.
